Selangor FC takes a 2 goal lead in the first leg of the 2025/26 FA Cup Round of 16 with a 3-1 win against Malaysian University at the MBPJ Stadium.

Selangor FC Head Coach, Katsuhito Kinoshi, made a few new changes from the previous match. Faisal Halim, Captain of the Red Giants squad, opened his scoring account with two goals against #MUFTSFC in the fourth minute after receiving a precise pass from Izwan Yuslan and in the 44th minute, which was assisted by Noor Al Rawabdeh. In addition, the other goal was scored by Alvin Fortes, last season's best import player in the 24th minute after receiving a pass from his compatriot, Omid Musawi. However, in the 83rd minute, Malaysian University managed to score a goal to lessen the advantage heading into the second leg of the FA Cup Round of 16.

During the press conference, Katsuhito Kinoshi stated that he was happy with this victory but was still not satisfied with the goal conceded.

“I am happy with yesterday’s victory even though we conceded a goal, of course this shouldn’t have happened but we need to learn from this match and improve for the next match,” he explained

Next, Selangor FC will meet Buriram United on August 20 at the Buriram Stadium, Thailand at 8pm (Malaysian time) for the first match of the 2025/26 Shopee Cup.
